While thinking about this blog and what I wanted it to be, I was taken back to the first conversation I had with my brother Paul about different aspects of approaching this mission, including what would be the title or name of this ministry. I have shared a little about my brother Paul, but I should mention that I have 14 siblings, 7 brothers and 7 sisters. Of the 13 of us who grew up together, I am right in the middle – the seventh child born on a Sunday in the seventh month. But I digress. Back to naming this ministry.

The “baby” of the family is my youngest sibling, Lisa. She can be tenacious! When something settles on her spirit, she does not easily let go. Over the past few years, I have been inspired by Lisa’s spiritual evolution that in some respects has been more like an explosion. It has always amazed me that she usually is able to grasp biblical concepts relatively easy the first time. How does she do it? Before approaching any type of bible study or attending a worship service Lisa prays for wisdom, understanding and discernment. She has developed a strong relationship with the Lord and speaks with Him on a regular basis. When things are not going the way that she would like or when her impatience starts to tug on her mind or her heart, she goes straight to the Lord with her petitions. Lisa’s faith never leaves any room for doubt that she will receive an answer. Without exception, she experiences an unmistakable confirmation answering her prayers. This is a gift. Like most gifts, she does not fully appreciate what she has been given.

Like all of us, Lisa remains a work in progress. Her ability to connect to her source at any moment is uncanny. Her natural ability to grasp concepts the way she does is exceptional. Lisa attributes this to her relationship with our mother. Growing up so very close to Mama, Lisa was at Mama’s elbow gleaning spiritual pearls of wisdom. Not completely understanding what it all meant, the spirit nonetheless stored these seeds away that ultimately grew into the relationship with the Lord that she continues to develop to this day.

Why am I telling you about Lisa, one of my 14 siblings? When I was trying to come up with a name for this blog, I could almost hear Lisa’s voice saying that some message, answer, reassurance, etc. just “Dropped in my spirit.” This is a typical response when she receives a word from the Lord about an issue that has been weighing on her mind. This quote is something that I had not paid much attention to, but coming from Lisa it resonated with me. I have heard her use it so many times that I associate it with Lisa. These four words embody exactly what this blog is intended to do, share with you what has been dropped in my spirit.

I thank God for his infinite wisdom to give Lisa the strong faith to tap into true wisdom, understanding and discernment. I thank Him even more that He decided that I would experience and benefit from Lisa’s gift as well.
